Fixed bed furnaces
At the heating with lateral insertion, or underfeed insertion the fuel is inserted by the side or below in the fire space which can be equipped with or without rust. Raw materials with small edge lengths and relatively constant grain size are introduced predominantly with the help of snails in the heating. Coarse grained irregularly formed fuels can be also inserted with the help of a piston in the heating. At rust heating with small achievement (<100 kW) outbalance stiff rust systems. With bigger achievements (from 100 kW) moved grates (e.g., feed rust, roller rust) are used on the other hand.
There exists for many fuels a special custom construction form which can be led back, however, on the system described on top. Fixed bed furnaces can be applied from 25 kW (heating in low energy houses) up to a management by 60 MW (garbage combustion) without danger. With great combustion in the garbage sector supporting distillers (fuel medium pure oxygen) should be installed in the 1st stroke to compensate heat value variations of the raw material.
In a fixed bed furnace almost all rest materials can be burnt to the thermal utilisation, Among the rest, limiting size is the size of the station of the problems and the chemical composition of the rest material.
